Gelatic

Gelatic is a playful display font family with six static fonts and a variable font option. Designed for display use, Gelatic plays with the notion of boldness, increasing in weight as the font gets wider, adding a funky quality and enhancing interactivity in dynamic layouts.

Gelatic is designed for use in short headlines, titles, and logos. Its compact design features tight spacing and a high x-height for lowercase letters, creating a distinctive rhythm. Most diacritical marks are flattened and expanded for better vertical spacing, while punctuation retains uppercase proportions for clarity. Each font in the Gelatic family comes with 700+ characters per font, covering most Latin-based languages.

The variable font allows for precise layout adjustments, ensuring seamless integration into any design. Gelatic is perfect for bold statements and eye-catching titles and works best in playful branding.

Gelato is more than ice cream, it’s a small masterpiece. Made with less air and fat, it has a dense, silky texture and bold flavor. From nutty pistachio to deep chocolate to fresh lemon, every scoop is rich and vibrant. Served warmer than ice cream, it melts smoothly and lets each flavor shine.

Gelato traces its origins to Renaissance Italy, where inventive cooks began experimenting with frozen desserts made from milk, sugar, and natural flavorings. Early versions were inspired by sorbets and snow-and-fruit mixtures brought down from mountain peaks or imported from the Middle East, combining ice with honey, fruit, and nuts. By the sixteenth century, gelato had evolved into a richer, cream-based treat, with artisans in Florence, Rome, and Venice refining recipes using eggs, milk, and fresh cream to achieve a smooth, dense texture. The invention of portable hand-cranked churns and later refrigeration technology allowed for more consistent freezing, making gelato widely accessible beyond royal courts and noble households. Unlike traditional ice cream, gelato emphasizes lower fat content, slower churning, and a slightly warmer serving temperature, enhancing flavor intensity and silkiness. Over the centuries, gelato has continued to evolve through regional variations, artisanal experimentation, and the use of seasonal ingredients.
