Font Licensing
Desktop License
A Desktop License allows you to use a font on computers or other devices. The cost of the license is determined by the number of devices on which the font will be installed. It can be used for the following purposes:
• Print (posters, collages, books, and magazines)
• Creating static images
• Social Media Content
• Static Web Images/Banners
• Offline Ads
• ePub Books
• Merchandise Design
Example Usage: A design team is preparing a series of printed brochures and selects Oktah Neue for the project. Since the font will be installed on ten computers, a 10-user Desktop License is required to cover this usage.

Web License
A Web License allows you to use a font on a website or a webpage. The cost of the license is calculated based on the average monthly number of page views the website receives. It can be used for the following purposes:
• Embedding font on your website
• Hosting .woff and .woff2 files on your website
Example Usage: A website receives approximately 200,000 page views per month. A Web License tier covering up to 250,000 monthly views is required. If traffic increases beyond this limit, the license must be upgraded to the next tier.

An App License allows you to embed a font within an application distributed through marketplaces such as Google Play or the App Store. The cost of the license is determined by the number of application titles in which the font is embedded. It can be used for the following purposes:
• Mobile App Design
• Mobile Game Design
Example Usage: Your app is available on both Android and Apple platforms. In this case, you would only need an App License for 1 Title to cover usage on both platforms.

A Digital Ads License allows the use of a font in digital advertisements, including static or dynamic ads on online platforms. The cost of the license is based on the number of impressions or views the ad campaigns are expected to receive. It can be used for the following purposes:
• Using fonts for digital advertisements (e.g., web banners, social media ads).
• Embedding fonts directly in ad through online platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads).
Example Usage: A digital advertising campaign is expected to receive approximately 5 million views. A Digital Ads License tier covering up to 6 million impressions is required.

Video/Broadcasting License
Video License grants the right to use the font in video content, such as films, TV shows, online and offline videos, and advertisements. The font license cost is determined based on a specified number of videos or an unlimited usage option. The Video License can be used for the following purposes:
• Adding fonts to video titles, subtitles, or overlays.
• Using font in YouTube videos or livestreams.
• Embedding fonts in promotional or commercial video content.
• Using fonts for video branding, intros, or end credits.
Example Usage: You want to use a font for your YouTube channel. An Unlimited Video License allows you to feature the font in an unlimited number of videos without restrictions.

Logo License
A Logo License grants the right to use a font in logos and brand identity designs. The cost of the license is determined based on the number of logos or projects, with options for single-use or extended use. The Logo License can be used for the following purposes:
• Creating logos for businesses, products, or services.
• Using the font in logotypes for print or digital media.
• Incorporating the font into brand identity materials.
• Applying the font in corporate or product branding.
Example Usage: You are designing a logo for a new product. A Logo License allows you to use the font in the logo and related brand identity materials for the project.

Trial License allows users to test and evaluate the font before committing to a full commercial license. This is a free to try font license that allows using the font for testing purposes, such as creating mockups, client proposals, presentations, or concept designs. Once the design is finalized, a commercial font license is required.

Example Usage: You download a free trial font from GYS to test it for an upcoming project. If the font meets your needs, you purchase the appropriate license to cover your intended usage.
